40% of SAAS companies never make it much past $1m

Top tips to grow your SAAS company.

c.40% of SAAS companies never make it much past $1m ARR....a key tipping point in proving market fit and c.60% of SAAS company never make it $10m, another critical point as you access for capital options etc.

Whilst the rewards can be fantastic many really struggle growing their SAAS company to the levels they (or their VC!) were targeting.

These patterns are very familiar so the tips below from research by Notion might be helpful when working out how to take your company forward:-

* 0-$1m - the priority is establishing the basis of product market fit

* $1m-$3m - the company needs to move beyond founder-led sales, validate an early go-to-market model and establish a viable target market;

*$3m-$10m - finding the go-to-market model and putting in place the processes and systems to enable repeatability;

*$10m+ - success is built upon an increasingly predictable playbook for growth; new products and markets, M&A before then IPOs etc.
