A classic mistake of nearly all junior sales people and how poor sales people continue to think is that they can simply have to "sell" their product or service.


"I must know this widget backwards if I'm going to sell it..."


"Our features are the best so it will sell...."


"I'm god's gift to sales....if I just pitch to enough people the results will come"


Unfortunately this mindset is highly unlikely to achieve any sort of sustainable success or maximise your performance.


But why???


Well......the simple truth is......


Prospect just don't care!!


They don't care about you!

They don't care about your product!!


Prospects are constantly being bombarded with the next best thing since slice bread and will literally shut down to you when you starting tell them just how great you and the product are.....! Harsh...but true!!


So if you actually want to make sales and grow....change your focus....immediately!


You must start listening and understanding. Forget all about you and your product and focus on your prospect. Find what they actually care about and find ways to help/solve those issue in a meaningful way that allows you both to win. In an instant you have moved from pitching to helping - you are useful....and guess what....you are far more likely to achieve that sale.


So if you want to sell and grow - stop selling and start helping!
